The anterior portion of the pituitary gland produces luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulatinghormone (FSH), and the gonads produce estrogen and testosterone.

The HPG axis can be temporarily (in some extreme cases, permanently) shut down, due to use of anabolic steroids, “natural” testosterone boosters, head trauma or hormone replacement therapy. In healthy young people, it is essential to regain natural function to ensure reproductive function in the future and also to promote healthy aging.

PCT "Post Cycle Therapy" utilizes natural supplementation along with prescription medications to reset the HPG axis and regain optimal function.                          TESTOSTERONE and ESTRADIOL PELLET THERAPY

Whether using once daily gels or patches or weekly injections, compliance is a common problem which quickly results in re-emergence of symptoms. On the other hand, even with perfect compliance, patients on weekly injections may experience re-emergence of symptoms 48hrs prior to their next injection. Pellet therapy offers an opportunity to obtain a smooth, consistently effective treatment which eliminates those issues.

Hormone pellets are biologically identical to our body’s hormones. They are directly absorbed into the bloodstream and are the only form of hormone delivery that can recreate the body’s natural hormone-producing rhythm. No other form can produce a consistent blood level of Estradiol and or Testosterone. The hormones in these pellets are available to the body whenever it needs them in the amounts that are needed.

The pellets are small, compressed cylinders of either testosterone or estradiol. The size is usually comparable to that of a tic-tac. The smaller the dose, the smaller the pellet size.

The pellets are injected into the subcutaneous fat of the buttock. To accomplish this, the skin is anesthetized with a small amount of Lidocaine to numb the area. A small incision is made and a hollow stainless steel Trocar is inserted. Pellets are inserted through the hollow tube of the Trocar into the gluteal area. The Trocar is then removed and a dissolvable stitch is made to close the area. There is very minimal if any scarring this way. The whole procedure lasts 10-15 minutes.

The Doctor bases the dose on baseline blood tests and symptoms. Typically men receive 1000-1200 milligrams of testosterone that slow release over a three month period. Women usually receive about 50 milligrams of estradiol and 37.5 milligrams of testosterone. Pellets last between 2-4 months. What will the results be?

What happens during the procedure?
The patient and doctor first select the area(s) to be treated. For instance, if the patient’s goal is to reduce their love handles, the doctor will position the system on the patient’s side. The device then draws the bulge up between two cooling panels. The sensation is a firm tug and pull – enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled most efficiently.

What does it feel like?
As the panels go to work in the first few minutes, the patient feels a sensation of intense cold. This soon dissipates. The patient is seated comfortably or lying down during the one to two hour procedure. Many people spend this time reading, working on their laptop, or simply relaxing.

Can I return to normal activities after the procedure?

                           BOTOX

BOTOX Cosmetic injections temporarily remove frown lines and crow's feet. Becoming one of the most popular cosmetic surgery treatments done in the past few years, it can significantly relax the muscles between the eyebrows, the forehead, and around the corners of the eyes. This relaxation can soften what are referred to as dynamic lines, or the wrinkles that show up when animating the face. Static wrinkles, although best treated with a dermal filler like collagen, can also be subtly improved if there is a degree of tension in the muscle. The effects of BOTOX Cosmetic injections will typically last between 4-6 months, depending on the strength of the muscle.

In patients that have repeated injection, the muscle will at times weaken so that the duration of the BOTOX Cosmetic lasts longer. Typical treatment times are between 5-10 minutes and are essentially painless. Results are seen as early as 48 hours, although maximum weakening of the muscles can take up to one week. We recommend that BOTOX Cosmetic injections only be done in a physician’s office in order to maintain sterility and maximum patient safety. Although there are physicians out there that perform BOTOX Cosmetic injections in other than the above places, we do not recommend other areas, as there is a significant chance of paralysis and weakness, which can be deforming.                           DYSPORT

This injectable treatment for wrinkles is made from the same neurotoxin (botulinum toxin type A) as Botox. Dysport (formally Reloxin) received the approval of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use as a wrinkle treatment in the spring of 2009, but it has been smoothing out facial folds and lines in Europe, South America, and elsewhere for several years. Like Botox, this injectable was originally developed in the 1990s to treat neuromuscular disorders.

Dysport is injected directly into the muscles that cause facial wrinkles, temporarily immobilizing them. It specifically targets the glabullar muscles — the ones that form creases on your forehead when you frown.
Dysport diffuses a bit farther from the injection point than Botox: one to three centimeters compared to Botox’s one centimeter. This means that fewer injections are needed, but it also means that the health professional doing the injections must be very skilled to ensure that the drug does not spread to nearby muscles and cause eyelid and/or eyebrow drooping or other unwanted side effects.

Results begin to appear within one to seven days after treatment, with day three being the median. (In other words, half the patients treated see wrinkle-smoothing results before day three, and half see results afterward.) Dysport contains less protein than Botox, so the body tends to break it down more slowly. The studies are mixed, however, about whether the results lasts longer than Botox. A large clinical trial sponsored by Dysport’s manufacturer and published in the March/April 2009 issue of Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery reported that effects lasted more than 13 months in some people. Botox results can last up to four months. TOP

                         RESTYLANE and PERLANE

The Restylane family of dermal filler products includes Restylane and Perlane. Both are cosmetic dermal fillers that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds), and from the corners of the mouth downward (marionette lines). These dermal fillers can also be used to replenish volume in the lips and to help smooth the lines which radiate from the lips.

The hyaluronic acid in both collagen injections is made by the same biotechnical process. The difference is in the gel particle size. Perlane gel particles are larger and designed for deeper injection than Restylane. Our practitioner will decide which dermal filler is right for you. Both products are proven to deliver long-lasting results. Restylane lasts about six months. Perlane lasts at least six months, in a majority of patients.

Restylane and Perlane require no pretesting, but you should take a few precautions before being treated. Avoid using aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John's Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements prior to treatment, because these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered facial cold sores, discuss this with the doctor, who may prescribe a medication to minimize recurrence. TOP

                         SCENAR THERAPY

Development of SCENAR

SCENAR was originally developed for the Russian space program. In the late 1970s the Russian Space Program established a special division to research and provide a solution that could lend support to the body from a health stand point for the unique conditions presented during space travel. The group was under the direction of electronics experts Alexander Karasev and Alexander Nechushkin as well as medical doctor and neurologist Alexander Revenko along with many other medical specialists. The device needed to be:

• Small and light enough to meet the size and weight restrictions of space flight
• Battery operated
• Be able to operate in the vacuum of space
• Ability to resituate life
• Capable of dealing with acute as well as chronic issues

They developed the method of treatment, SCENAR, which is energy efficient, multi-applicable, portable and non-invasive device. They were the first to achieve repeatable therapeutic treatment using electrical signals to stimulate the immune system. The device was kept as a highly classified military secret until the 1990s after Perestroika (the establishment of Gorbachev's policies of economic, political and social restructuring and the break up of the Soviet Union into its constituent republics). At that time the inventors received patents for the device and it was made available to western countries. The SCENAR received approval of the USSR Medical Council (Russia's FDA) in 1986 and is widely used in Russian Hospitals.

How does SCENAR work?

Adaptation and degeneration are your body's best strategy for survival. However, to truly recover your brain must be reconnected to the forgotten area/problem while providing the necessary resources to begin structural and functional repair. This is where the SCENAR enters the picture. The SCENAR uses real time biofeedback, stimulating your own healing ability while continuously monitoring your body's response to its signals and modifies each successive signal to achieve homeostasis. There is a constant dialogue between the device, skin and the brain. The device sends out a series of signals through the skin and measures the response. The body can get accustomed to a stable pathological state, which may have been caused by injury, disease or toxicity. The SCENAR catalyses the process of producing regulatory peptides, by stimulation of C-fibres for the body to use where and as necessary. The C-fibres, which comprise 85% of all nerves in the body, react most readily to the electronic stimulation of the SCENAR, and are responsible for the production of neuropeptides and other regulatory peptides. It is these neuropeptides that in turn re-establish the body’s natural physiological state and are responsible for the healing process. As these peptides last up to several hours, the healing process will continue long after the session is over. The large quantity of neuropeptides and C-fibres in the Central Nervous System (CNS) can also result in regulating other areas and aiding with chemical imbalances, assisting with sleeplessness and behavior problems. By stimulating the nervous system it is able to teach your body to restore itself. It helps to determine the specific locations needing energetic intervention and then can provide a healing energy pattern to these areas. By eliminating repetitive patterns that your CNS has become accustomed to as well as reconnecting your brain to the problem area, homeostasis and restoration is eventually achieved.

The biofeedback device works along your acupuncture meridians, neurological zones and directly on local spinal reflexes. SCENAR brings your brain's focus back to acute inflamed areas for more rapid healing and pain relief. The SCENAR device is applied directly on your skin’s surface, stimulating all layers of your skin. Since your skin developed from the same embryological layer as the nervous system, it is sometimes considered our second brain. This indirectly affects your internal organs and other areas of the body as the SCENAR stimulates reflexive zones on the surface of the skin.

Areas of the skin that are connected to over-stressed, injured, or adapted tissues or organs will demonstrate abnormal or changed electrical responses. Areas that have acute injuries or inflammation will demonstrate a different response than normal or degenerative areas. Some of the visible reactions include temporary reddening of the skin, numbness, stickiness (the device will have the feeling of being dragged or stuck as it is moved along the skin), changes in the numerical readout and changes in the sound of the device.

How is SCENAR certified?

The SCENAR is certified by the European Common Market, (the equivalent of the FDA in the US), for pain control. In the United States, the SCENAR was originally registered with the FDA as a biofeedback device for muscle reeducation and for biofeedback. Most recently, May 28, 2010, the FDA has listed the device as a “stimulator, nerve, transcutaneous” medical device used for pain relief. Only the Professional, Sport D, Sport and Home devices manufactured by RITM OKB ZAO have been approved by the FDA and carry their authorization.

What should I expect during a session?

The SCENAR is a small hand held device with an electrode at one end and runs off batteries. The device is moved over the spine and abdomen, the infected or injured area, and recording the responses. A gentle tingling/stroking sensation will be felt. As a highly skilled SCENAR practitioner I look for anomalies on your skin surface, which may be highlighted by redness, numbness, stickiness or a change in numerical display or sound along with your sensation reactions. Sometimes old problems and issues resurface during the SCENAR process. The chemical compounds, released by the nerves, affect not only the current problem areas, but also circulate in the blood influencing other areas of the body. Your body has its own innate intelligence and will naturally unlock old and hidden issues so that balancing can occur.

How often will I need a session?

For any fresh injury or acute inflammatory process the approach needs to be intensive, ideally once or even twice daily. Acute problems may just take one or two sessions. The Russians state that a chronic problem may take 6 plus weeks of SCENAR sessions for long-lasting effectiveness and sessions are ideally given two - three times a week initially. As things improve the frequency can be reduced. Number of sessions will vary from individual to individual, and takes into account such factors as the stage of one's issue, the person's age, state of health, lifestyle and so on.

What conditions can SCENAR help?

In the Russian studies and research it demonstrates that SCENAR proves effective in 80% of all cases, of which full regulation occurs in 2/3rds of them and significant healing and recovery occur in the remainder. With that being said, the Russian experience is that SCENAR affects all the body systems. They suggest that it can be effective for a very broad range of diseases including musculoskeletal conditions while delivering pain relief and inflammation reduction. TOP
